To Measure Is To Know: How Techno-G Safeguards the Fit and Quality of Every Inflatable Seal
Techno-G2026-10-16T14:07:26+00:00At the heart of every Techno-G Ball Segment Valve is its most critical component: the inflatable seal. It is what delivers tight, reliable closure, even under vacuum or pressure. Getting its size exactly right, so that it fits its housing and does its job, is therefore essential. That is why we make sure every unit meets the specified dimensions.
Why the right fit matters
The special geometry of the inflatable seal allows long-term, reliable sealing against a wide range of solids. That performance depends on precision. A seal that deviates from its specified dimensions may not fit its housing or the valve flange as intended, and it will not close the valve as it should.
The seal is available in EPDM (white or black), Viton (white or black) and Perlast FFKM, so it can be matched to your process. Each material behaves differently, and each must meet the same dimensional requirements. That is why dimensional control matters for every material, not just for one.
How we measure
The seal only performs once inflated, but its shape under ambient conditions is the most reliable basis for measuring it. Our checks therefore cover the full working cycle:
- At rest: the dimensions of each seal are measured under ambient conditions and compared with the specification.
- Inflated: each seal is tested around the valve head to confirm that it closes the valve completely.
- Deflated: the seal must be fully clear of the valve head’s contact surface, so that both the seal and the valve function properly.
Quality assurance at valve level
Seal control is one part of a wider quality process. Every Techno-G Ball Segment Valve is manufactured and assembled to withstand demanding conditions, and each valve undergoes hydrotesting. On request, a PED certificate is supplied under the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU, with LRQA acting as Notified Body.
Each valve ships with a Manufacturing Data Book. It contains the relevant certificates, the instruction and operation manuals, the CE and EG declarations, ATEX documentation where applicable, and a signed and stamped hydrotest certificate. The valve housing is designed and built to EN 13445, and the flanges conform to NEN-EN 1092-1. Once all checks are completed, each valve is carefully packed and labeled, and shipped with its documentation and packing lists.

"Exploring Coldspray 3D Printing For Ball Segment Valves"
The Techno-G Ball Segment Valve (BSV) is a versatile solution for pharmaceutical and fine chemical processes, handling a variety of solids. Ideal for vacuum dryers, reactors, and centrifuges, it serves as both an inlet and discharge valve. It handles non-free flowing, abrasive, or moist and adhesive products, providing a vacuum and pressure- tight seal. Its cGMP-compliant, corner-free design allows the ball segment to move clear of the product flow path when opened. The design minimizes dead-space in the process area and can be customized with non-DIN flange connections for most reactor vessels.
